Out of the Box (Scotland) Ltd
Out of the Box (Scotland) Ltd is a regulated Scottish Charity SC 035701, set up in 2004 to provide Christian outreach using puppetry, song and various other forms of creative arts. Out of the Box was created by Chris Watt now our full-time Children's Worker.
Over the past five years, led by a team of committed volunteers, Out of the Box has served many schools, churches and other organisations across Scotland in a variety of different ways, such as: Children's Outreach Events, School Assemblies, Scripture Union Camps, Holidays Clubs, The Royal Highland Show, Church Services, Family Events, Puppet Training Events and RE classes.
Whether it is through a school assembly, a workshop, a one-off event or in the classroom we seek to develop children’s physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. We want to encourage children to be both confident individuals and responsible citizens.
We have found that giving the space and opportunity to explore creative arts for themselves in an unthreatening, lively way enables every child to contribute – we recognise that every child is unique and special.
The volunteers who have facilitated this work to date are Elaine Watt, Andrew Wilson, Eilidh Wilson, Ingrid Hutchison, Fiona Hutchison and Murray McCheyne.
We realised that to develop our work further we needed to employ a full time Children’s Worker and Chris Watt has taken up this position. Chris has been employed to work with Schools and Churches across the North of Scotland.
The current management team consists of six directors of Out of the Box (Scotland) Ltd: Elaine Watt, Andrew Wilson, Murray McCheyne, Peter Naulls, Scott McRoberts and Gillian Gunn who provide their services on a voluntary basis.
